That's certainly something. Is the story good?
no subject
Absolutely! One of the best I've ever read, honestly. [ she loves it. ] Do you have time for a brief summary of it? Oh—well, it can wait until we're eating. Something such as this should not be discussed on an empty stomach!
no subject
I don't mind the least bit, Miss Velveteen, a game's story is as important as its characters to me.
[Let's!!! Go to Denny's!!! Get us that pancake tower!!!]
no subject
So you're the type that enjoys characters then... [ Elizabeth'll direct him to a booth and put her wiggling bag of happy fruits in the corner. And finish the apple she'd been eating, too. ] I certainly can't fault you. I believe a character could make or break its story.
no subject
But if you have wonderful characters and a lackluster story, no one's going to want to see it through with them in the end. They go hand in hand. Gameplay is also rather important, more in regards to how easy it is to learn than actual challenge, and art design is subjective.
no subject
This is perfectly normal!!! ]
Without a doubt. Though spite is certainly a decent motivator for all of these. [ Not that she's every played a game out of spite... Ahem. She'll bring up LFXIV's races in image form and slide her phone over. Check these out. ]
Speaking of art, which of these catches your eye most? That is, which one would you be more inclined to make a character of.

They're all very nice designs, but I think the elf-ish ones are the prettiest... that must sound typical though, doesn't it? The... children? No, they're just small, they're adorable as well, but I'm not sure which I'd make a character for.
[He says, blatantly lying to himself, because he's a Miqo'te bitch.]
no subject
They're not children, they're just a very small race. Think... Oh, gnomes, I suppose, except much cuter. [ hahaha. She'll tap Miqo'te and Lalafell with her fingers. ] I have one of each of these. There are different subsets as well...
[ ...and so on and so forth, let her regale you with the stand-ins for everything in this fictional universe. She'll stop when their pancakes and etc get here though, setting her phone aside. Pancake tower....!! ]
These look lovely, for a fast food establishment such as this.

It's a little surprising, isn't it. There's a kind of surrealness that comes with being here so late, Miss Velveteen, but I just think that they have more time to get things right since we're practically the only ones here.
[Mmmm, pancakes. Soak it in syrup and let's dig in.]
no subject
It's truly remarkable! Unparalleled, even... Perhaps I shall only dine here and at other establishments that are awake this late at night, in that case. And perhaps a wealthy tip as well... [ ...She can think about that later. ] I must thank you, though, for thinking of bringing me here this late. I would have never considered it myself.
[ just doesn't cross her mind because she doesn't go outside to go eat because she never has anyone to eat with. ]
no subject
Just make sure you have someone with you when you're out so late. As quiet as this place can be at night, every city has its share of dangers.
no subject
Does it? I didn't encounter any trouble getting here.
[ ...which means she will never encounter any sort of trouble ever, clearly. ]
no subject
... and then he seems lost in thought for a moment, tilting his head and staring at his plate. He looks up with a start, blinking rapidly at Elizabeth, as if seeing her for the first time again. Talking, they'd been talking, about what.]
Ah, well, um. Sorry, could you repeat what you said? I... have a habit of getting lost in my own head.
[Even if it wasn't quite like that, less deja vu and-- this is what Silver was talking about, wasn't it, he's not sure he likes the hallucinomemories. A TV station? He was set to appear again? For what... and those students...]
no subject
It was nothing very important. A ten for your thoughts?
no subject
no subject
[ ...but she has tens, so? ]
no subject
You're going to pay me to talk?
no subject
[ ????? ]
no subject
[... Odd girl.]
That aside, it's... nothing. It's been an unusually eventful night, that's all.
[Yes, that must be it.]
no subject
I have to agree. I've had many a conversation and theory-crafting session already... [ Let her check her Retrospec stuff, actually—she'll type some replies out, hmming softly. ] ... It's strange, isn't it, to feel as if you know something and then find out all of a sudden one night that it was a mere lie instead, and that no matter what you tell your kin, they won't believe you, not unless they're on the app themselves.
[ Just. Idly. A fact, really. ]
no subject
[Talking to his mom is going to be an Adventure, he's sure.]
You've talked to your caretaker about it?
no subject
Why would I?
no subject
no subject
[ ... ]
My caretaker has told me not to worry over it, however. I asked him a few questions before I left. [ So. Slightly the experience, maybe. ]
no subject
I see. [...] It is strange though, that it's like this. It seems as if they'd like the whole city to encompass their userbase, in my opinion, if there's a steadily growing number of people who become aware every so often. But why? What is their purpose in releasing it a bit at a time, why not all at once, why not seek volunteers instead of their generous use of the word "selecting"?
[He pops another piece of pancake into his mouth, the taste oddly bitter on his tongue.]
Well, it isn't a mystery that can be solved all at once, [he finally decides.] No doubt more questions will turn up as time goes on as well.
