[A pause. thumpthumpthump--]
It's not mine anyway! It's probably one of Miss Velveteen's-- regardless, Belle, you need to stop stealing others' socks.
[Chirrup chirrup. She's coming over to soothe his embarrassment, it's okay, she'll give him the other in a bit. Goro glances Silver over, noting the damages, but doesn't seem like he'll immediately press.]
no subject
[If Goro isn't going to say anything, then Silver's best bet is to keep scooting over quietly until he reaches his room or one of the bathrooms. Maybe Liz doesn't have to know. It's fine. This is fine-]

oh, Silver's home, yes. Let her join y'all out here. ] Do you want coffee? I've made more than I can drink. Or, well, that's what I thought, but I've been consuming it at quite the steady pace since before. [ ... ] Akechi, do you want some, or is it still too late for you? I believe once we cross a certain threshold of time, that excuse becomes meaningless, and I have been waiting for it to become meaningless to you as well. Though, I suppose that's hard to ask of you, since everything seems rather full of meaning to you, and...
[ ..........what was she AH, RIGHT, SILVER. ]
Regardless! Coffee? [ . . . ] And a new jacket, maybe? Or, well, hoodie. Are you alright?
no subject
Um, no, I'll take some, Miss Velveteen, if only to alleviate the burden of caffeine from your slender shoulders.
[He is curious about Silver's hoodie though, honestly, he was just hoping Silver would speak up himself. At least his own arm is treated, the encounter a bit ago... it's just that he can't move his left arm as much, which has become hilarious in trying to hide since he is in fact left hand dominant. #painkillerlife]
Do I need to get the first aid kit? Or the sewing kit, I suppose.
no subject
[And Liz really doesn't need to drink more. What fresh hell did he return to? This is going to be a tight squeeze, but he can pull this back. He can come up with a good excuse now that they're both in front of him-]
Just a sewing kit. My hoodie snagged on something at work.
[...That's the least believable lie imaginable. He doesn't even wear his hoodie at work.]
The something is Sneasel.
[Sneasel frowns very blatantly at that. Don't pin this on him--!]
Actually, it was a little something from the fog, so I was just going to go clean it up in the bathroom, and you know how tight it is in there.
[Which is why they could all sit on the floor. His expression remains impressively stagnant through his series of increasingly implausible explanations.]
no subject
[ She pauses, sipping her coffee, then sets it aside.]
It's quite dangerous, and coupled with your odd idea that we'd crowd you in our not-that-tight bathroom to watch you sew up your hoodie, I assume you're trying to hide something?
no subject
[He'll come out properly, reaching for Silver's arm.]
If you don't want our lady to see, then at least show me. And don't try and blame Sneasel again, he wouldn't hurt a hair on your head.
no subject
That's why you're chugging so much coffee, isn't it? Retrospec better take care of this stuff soon.
[He's not going to be able to handle it if it continues. Silver drops his groceries and starts pulling off his hoodie... Slowly. God, this sucks. Maybe he should have slept in the stairway.]
no subject
[ As you do. She's going to wander over though, just to see how bad it is. She can't quite keep as still and quiet though, tapping her fingers against the side of the door. ]

I take naps on campus. I'm probably going to get stolen from at some point, but it just happens. Honestly, I preferred nearly dying while wasting away the last of my summer to what's going on now. [...] You should take your time though, Miss Velveteen. Your youth won't last forever.
[THAT'S AN ENTIRELY TOO MEAN THING FOR HIM TO SAY but he's tired, fam. he is. there are things that replenish his life (his boyfriend, the pets, a new crime documentary with all the gory details) but he is tired.]
no subject
[Well, despite wincing every time he's had to bend and taking his time with it, his hoodie is off, his gloves are off, and his shirt takes a little more effort than his hoodie but as it's pulled up it's fairly obvious to see the damage, even if it's somewhat obscured by blood. It's a large slice that cuts through his side and a bit of his back; it's a little erratic and at a weird angle in a way that implies that he might have been moving while he got it. What's weirdest about it is probably how clean it looks, like he was cut by a sword, maybe...? But it also isn't terribly deep, either. It's certainly nothing fatal, and it's slowed significantly on the bleeding front, but it's still fairly serious given the size of it.
The whole ordeal is frustrating more than anything, for more reasons than one, and Silver moves to turn on the shower to clean things up. He's at least somewhat making this up as he goes.
A few things of note, if Goro and Liz can look away from the current wound:
• The old bite scar on his left hand, although Goro possibly remembers the days Silver came to school with a cast, so that's not all surprising.
• The newer burn scars on his forearms from their fun in August. They're not too bad, but they're definitely noticeable and something he's been covering up with hoodies.
• Silver is shirtless. He's actually pretty muscular for someone so small looking.
• There's a tear in Silver's backpack that likely saved him from some of the injury. It looks like fabric at the bottom has stopped anything from falling out... Probably.]

How awful? Like, wow, bud. She'll register the rest of that in a bit, the wound's kind of very attention-grabby. ]
Mr. Jaeger's a very nice man. [ Whether that's really true or not isn't really her concern right now. ] Just what did you get caught by? Ah... I'm sorry I can't help, Silver. Thanatos doesn't have any healing spells.

1. Surprisingly hot, oh no.
2. Really badly hurt.
Goro squeezes his left arm self-consciously, humming strained at the throb of pain from it, and he shakes his head as he moves to help out. Very gentle with a washcloth here.]
Nor does Robin Hood. Why didn't you go to the hospital? This-- This requires more medical attention than you can receive here, Silver. Did you even go someplace for those burns?
[Because a detective notes all, and he certainly does remember the days.]
no subject
[It's not a good reason, and saying it gently doesn't make him feel any less childish about it, but it's the truth. He turns to Liz; she's taking it easy on him and he knows it, but he doesn't want to leave her question unanswered.]
I got caught in the fog. The guy that keeps showing up for me can make himself look like anyone, so... He caught me off guard.
[And that makes him feel way more vulnerable than he does with Goro cleaning out his wound. He's a good sport and doesn't move around any or protest all that much.]
I got the burns when we first got to the jungle.

[ ...she is pretty bad, but Elizabeth can't imagine... There's the things she helped Yato with too, and that girl—she touches her left arm idly, though she's wearing something long-sleeved. Tugs at her sleeve a little, too. ]
You have my greatest sympathies. Really, very many of them, actually. At least they can't come inside... I'd dislike it if we lost our apartment to destruction. [ ...Mmm. ] Are you alright?
[ Not physically, she obviously can see that, but... The gentle way of asking she has, she means otherwise. ]
no subject
I'm angry. How long are we supposed to accept that this is gonna keep happening? I want to do something about it.
[He hates feeling helpless like this. He hates knowing that every night, one way or the other, his friends are risking getting hurt...]
no subject
[... As nice as that would be.]
Don't get me wrong, I certainly would like to put them in their place, to give back all they've troubled us with, it's an injustice I hate having to allow simply because there's nothing I can do to prevent it, but the fact is that there's not much we can do besides what amounts to damage control.
no subject
[ Given he dislikes how she handles her own affairs. ]
Until we find a way to fix this once and for all, however that may be, we'll simply have to deal with what we can, and that's not a crime at all.
