[I wonder if this'll actually taste good... I trust Liz, but she does have strange tastes at time.
He takes a bit after his moment of consideration, eyes widening the second the heat hits him. There's fire above his head. Oh, my god, this is not balsamic nor fig. She has lied to him.]
It's-- It's delicious, Miss Velveteen. [I'm dying. He's actually trembling, but smiling wide.] I've never tasted anything so-- um, so unique.
no subject
My apologies. That seems to have been my ghost pepper ice cream... [ She'll take it back, snapping the lid on and putting it with the other spicy tubs. ] The other is balsamic fig... if you'd like to try it after the heat has subsided.
[ .......She'll get him some milk, that should help. ]
no subject
[If I can even taste after this?! Oh thank goodness she has milk.
He takes the milk thankfully, casually gulping it down to maintain His Cool
oh my god he has done this before, his other self... him? he has done this before, but with takoyaki of all things. It was clearly red? Why did I take it. At some kind of food festival... Everyone's there? Does that mean... No, I won't assume such things. Do I even want to know?
... At least now she can see when he's lost in thought.]
no subject
So the other Akechi wasn't good with spice either, I assume.
no subject
He and I share a number of similarities, Miss Velveteen. It... makes denying certain things difficult.
[Like how they're the same person. Goro rubs his thumb against the side of the glass, choosing to study the assortment of fruit Liz has pulled out.]
... Remind me to tell you something interesting once we're finished with parfait and case details. I think I'd value your opinion.
no subject
Goro's supposed to be taking the lead here, but she'll get them some (regular sized) glass cups to start. Considering she's push aside a handful of the small tubs, it's probably good to guess those are the ones that'd probably hurt his already damaged dignity. ] Please begin your briefing, Detective.

Akira Kurusu has asked us to look into a rather unique matter, that being the late-Ryoji Mochizuki suddenly appearing online in the Retrospec directory since August 27th. Efforts to find him have come up fruitless. It's... for his own peace of mind, it would seem, since he just wants an answer, whether it be a glitch or a prank. I thought we could possibly try contacting Mochizuki through the app, but I'm not sure there'd be much of an answer found there.
[A pause, a soft coloring on his cheeks. Clears his throat a bit.]
Akira, ah, already paid in advance on my end, and I said I'd talk to you about any other fees he may need to look forward to, though personally I wouldn't mind doing this as a favor for a friend.
no subject
I suppose we should take fees, shouldn't we... [ Your Madame President didn't think about this. ] Well, I'll figure out my share in time. For now... I don't think messaging is a terrible idea, but before that, perhaps we could see if we could investigate his apartment? It might help us learn a little more about him.
no subject
Investigate his... Madame President, that's quite against the law if we don't procure a warrant of some kind.
no subject
The law won't permit us to procure a warrant for this sort of thing.

[...]
It's not the first time I've trespassed, I suppose. It'll be fine. We're only going in to look around, it isn't like we're going to take anything.
[Sometimes you've gotta duck under rules to get your answers, however much of a hypocrite that makes him in Silver's eyes.]
no subject
[ Just..... casually admit you too have trespassed in the name of investigation, yeah. ]
no subject
I had something else I wanted to talk to you about as well, but please, enjoy your parfait.
no subject
And what would that be?
no subject
Where do I begin... Well, I suppose I'll get to the heart of it and work my way out.
[He doesn't want Liz to think any worse of him, his worry a dark cloud forming over his head. Too dark to even see words.]
... I don't think I'm quite a hero of justice, Miss Liz. [Nicknames, now.] Though my other self may be after the Phantom Thieves, the way he's done it... doesn't settle well with me. I'm fairly certain he -- I -- joined their group somehow in order to betray them and capture their leader.
[Yes, it's much nicer to talk about this with his hands doing something, even if the knife's trembling.]
no subject
And I think you're quite heroic and justicey, especially as you're opposed to the idea of befriending to betray.
[ #simple ]
Not to make light of it your situation, Go-chan, but this is the sort of thing I've come to terms with with Ms. Sphinx's reveal.
no subject
[Not that it smothers things entirely. It probably won't until he talks things out with the people in question and gets their assurances that it's fine, that he's different and whatnot, but it's a hard thought to swallow; it stays in the rain cloud above, paired with small flashes of lightning every so often.]
I have a habit of overthinking things just as much as I do not thinking at all. [Reckless. Ready for danger.] I just can't help it, though, when it comes to this -- he was oddly excited to learn about some of the thieves' tricks, I don't think I've ever felt that sort of genuine feeling from him otherwise.
no subject
It's always exciting to learn how a magician performs his stunts; I think you can liken it to that sort of thing. [ She's doing so poorly at this. ] As for it being the only genuine thing you've felt from him... Some people are simply harder to move than others, I suppose.
no subject
[To both. The cloud dissipates with her swirling, and Goro shakes his head with a wide smile.]
Well, no matter. Whatever the circumstances, I'm actually rather excited to see how they work in action myself! For a detective, unraveling such a mystery is a dream come true. It'll certainly answer a few questions I have in mind.
no subject
Do you believe it'll help with any of our cases going forward?
no subject
[Sorry. Things like this... there's no way they translate to reality, though what counts as reality now is up in the air.]
no subject
Oh. ]
Oh.
[ ......................... ]
That's rather disappointing to hear, but I suppose it can't be helped.
no subject
[because it'd be cool tbh]
