[ To be fair, she's yet to encounter monsters that don't turn into pixels and she was assuming much the same of this situation. But ... you know what, sure. ]
Alright, then I guess I'll be following your lead? Or I could carry you just as easily.
[ Oh oops, that was too loud? But either way, Elda rolls up her sleeves and then motions for Elizabeth to get into her arms. Elda might be a lot smaller, but she's a lot stronger. So go on, let's do it. ]
[ Ms. Marker's the best 10/10 would definitely hang out with her—
Elizabeth glances up just in time to see the werellama shriek in glee and anger and slam down on their platform, and really, that's all the inspiration she needs to get into Elda's arms and hold on. ]
Let's go, Ms. Marker! Onward! [ bless you elda she adores you ]
[ The fact the girl all but leapt into her arms shouldn't make the older woman feel as satisfied as she does, but it does. It reminds her of that memory of rescuing Henry that she got all those months ago. It's probably this more than anything which makes Elizabeth feel so light.
The woman's eyes turn cat-like. ]
Hold tight!
[ Because despite feeling the weight of her, at her current strength, Elizabeth might be an awkwardly large feather. Elda remembers the platforms pointed out, and she breaks into a rapid sprint towards them, the better to get a running start for her jump. Judging the appropriate time as best she can (somehow, it comes to her, as a result of those instincts she'd been fostering) the woman leaps - oh, she has no arms to catch her, she better land right. ]
[ The platforms teeter nervously as she lands on them, but they don't fall; just shift to one side or another like seesaws, and Elizabeth pales when she realizes this isn't part of her memory in the slightest? They were very firm, very very firm, they weren't like...
Jello. The next one Elda lands on, just shy of the landing with all the levers and buttons (that are working without them, being pressed and going up and down as they please like some sort of Haunted Mansion bullshit), she sinks into jello. Red jello, because we're classy and that's the only good type of it.
At least it seems the other platforms have similarly turned into massive blobs of jello, because Dr. Halliday makes an angry, frustrated noise as soon as he similarly sinks into one. ]
She can't get good footing like this, her feet are sinking in and her shoes are going to get stuck like this. Still on the plus side, that means Elizabeth isn't going to dink immediately. Elda nods, and sets the girl down gingerly so that she can try to rip her legs free before she picks her up again. ]
Hah, well, at least it's not trying to eat us. So to the switches, right?
[ Okay, shifting her feet - there, now she's not sinking, and she's pretty sure she can still jump? the platform of jello isn't that solid, so it's not going to be easy, but... ]
[ It'd be nice to get rid of the good doctor like that...!!
Which is a good priority to have, though werellama is having a hard time with his jello. Elizabeth's watching over her shoulder, tilting her head. He doesn't seem so terrifying when he's trying to get dessert out of his fur and also his hooves in general out of it... Actually, she almost feels sorry for him... ]
Poor Dr. Halliday. He didn't ask to be a llama, I suppose.
[ liz he tries to kill you ever time you dream about this, can you not ]
... Halliday ... That sounds sort of familiar somehow ... I think.
You're not a vampire in your memories, right?
[ Just to make sure it's not a crossover like that. But all the same, now she's got her footing, lets leap to the controls! Or at least make a good faith attempt. If she fails the distance though she's tossing Elizabeth the rest of the way, as gently as she can. ]
[ it's actually a shorter distance than the platforms are, so she should have no problems clearing it!! i remembered this all of a sudden, jesus christ gj gj me...
Elizabeth'll still climb out of her arms and hurry over to the controls that are just... sort of working themselves and stare at them. Um. How does she... do this, if they're just going to move again..??? ]
I'm not a vampire, but I'm certainly not... Well, anyway, I believe "Halliday" has something to do with Retrospec, or the Founding Families, or all of the above.
Part of it, yes. This was the area between the escape room-esque doctor's office and the spaceship we ended up on.
[ ...It was kind of terrible, Elda. Whatever, she's going to slam all of these down and hope one of them affects Dr. Halliday's jello— wait does that even apply anymore NO IT HAS TO. ]
Dr. Halliday was a foe I and two others unfortunately encountered on a foray into the labs. We were searching for a potion to fuel our escape pod... and llama blood to brew another. Somewhat naturally, we were required to bleed him. [ Her voice is pitched differently there—a little higher, a little like do not want. ] Mr. Kaiba shot him to get him down, I knocked him out for a little bit with Kiki, and Lucy held him down... I cut a gash in his leg that was a little deeper than I'd meant for it to be due to my own stupidity and fright at something else crying and waking him back up, and Mr. Kaiba shot another leg to make certain he wouldn't be getting back up to follow us, and truly hostile towards us or not I don't believe he deserved to simply bleed out and die in a locked room, in pain and alone and—
[ she catches herself, swallowing a breath, and draws away from the controls. ]
I don't wish to hurt anyone, [ repeated, somewhat softly. ] And the monsters at the convention were fine, and the ones in the fog are similar, but Dr. Halliday was real and he bled, Ms. Marker.
[ What the fuck is that. Did Silver suffer similar traumas? Did Toushiro? Neither of them have been terribly clear on the details, nor has Albert for that matter. Elda's eyes get more clouded, and though she doesn't realize this is the case, they become more cat-like. And she... glances at the llama-man, she looks at Elizabeth and ...
Reaches out, following some sort of odd instinct. She puts her palm on the girl's forehead. What was-
Ah, right, this was how she erased that man's memory in her dream, right? ]
You don't have to, girl. Don't you worry, no matter what this nightmare has for you, I am here.
[ Elizabeth startles a little; she's not entirely sure what to do, but she eventually takes Elda's hand into her own and nods, squeezing it. ]
Thank you. I truly, fullheartedly appreciate it...
[ ...it does not seem like pulling the levers down has helped at all, largely because electronics in dreams never work when you want them to, and Dr. Halliday joins them on the platform with a howl. Elizabeth jerks, and Thanatos—despite the fact he definitely was not here in her memory, he is part of her consciousness—springs up behind them, roaring loudly.
Elizabeth, for her part, immediately turns into a hare and cowers behind Elda's ankles, absolutely not having expected her Persona. ]
[ . . . Um holy shit that's crowded?! Not sure what to make of any of this, Elda looks around for the most likely looking blunt object to be ready to strike out, either at the llama thing here if needed, but also with the monster that just appeared behind them. And she also skids a foot back, to urge Elizabeth into what she hopes is a more secure position. ]
[ The hare bounces wherever she's needed to, though she's peeking out after a moment and resting her little paws on Elda's leg. ]
Please find some way to trap Dr. Halliday! [ ...She sounds like she normally does, she's just also a fucking hare right now. Thanatos snarls above them again, hovering in the air, and Elizabeth flinches a little. He doesn't know how to do anything by halves, she knows this, he's a protector and he doesn't give up until whatever's threatening her is taken care of... ] Don't let Thanatos hurt him, please! I'll do my best to... to control him, but he's very... I'm his summoner, so naturally I'm important to him... I suppose?
[ That she can't even control the thing? Elda considers the llama-man and then Thanatos and honestly her first instinct would be just to restrain the flying thing... But you know what, fine. She doesn't see any blunt objects, so she's just going to...
Smirk a little and then make to charge towards/tackle Halliday, hoping to launch both of them into the jello. ]
[ SHE'S A HARE SHE'S PRETTY SURE SHE CAN'T CONTROL HIM LIKE THIS...
and... she may have had a few moments of worry about him going berserk, especially since he's fully-offensive. which may be feeding into this. sorry Elda.
Halliday gives a wild shriek, taking the full brunt of the tackle; he didn't see that coming, given nothing like that happened prior, and getting onto the jello is a successful venture. Elizabeth twitches her nose and paws at the air by Thanatos, until he settles in a kneel beside her. He still has his sword out, but he's watching Elda carefully. ]
[ Elizabeth giggles, bouncing over to the edge; Thanatos follows her, his sword scraping along the ground in the quiet. ]
He does look incredibly silly like that. [ It's a much better look. Less terrifying. Really, truly better. She rubs an ear between her paws, then pauses and stares at Elda, nose twitching. She... should figure out a way to help her...
She looks up to ask Thanatos, but he's already flying past her to slice down the jello's middle; she gives a little bunny squeak, pressing close to the ground, and her Persona disappears down and out of sight.
The jello wiggles, then splits; Elda should probably hurry before her side tips over, just like Halliday's is. ]
[ You know, Elda was told to make sure Halliday isn't hurt...?
So...
She's actually not going to leap to safety so much as reach to grab the man. Llama, whatever. That's sure something she's making to do despite the danger.
